Mia Sanders, a kind-hearted young woman, has been labeled as a jinx by her family from the day she was born. Not only does her father treat her as if she's invisible, but even the household servants look down on her. In stark contrast, her twin sister, Molly Sanders, is the favored one. Molly subjects Mia to ceaseless mistreatment and oppression, and Mia can only endure it. She holds onto the belief that she can escape this life once she grows up and moves out.
